HOW TO GET FREE YAHOO MESSENGER OFFLINE CHAT MESSAGES ON YOUR MOBILE AS SMS

 

Instant Messengers(IM) have been adding more features than the regular chat with friends.You can send and receive messages from your YAHOO friends in real-time via SMS.

If you set Yahoo account on ‘I am on SMS’, then your Yahoo messenger friends can send you free SMS. When you are offline, your friends will see ‘Im on SMS’ next to your ID. They can click on your ID and send message which you will receive on your mobile phone. 

This is all free, you will only incur charges if you reply to any of received SMS from your mobile phone.Here’s how you can set it up on your mobile device.

It requires latest YAHOO! MESSENGER 11.

When prompted, save the .exe file to your desktop. Then double click the Yahoo! Messenger 11 file on your desktop to begin installation.

After installing YAHOO! MESSENGER 11, fallow the below steps

Step1. Log in Yahoo Messenger. Then click on ‘Messenger’ (top left corner) tab and click on ‘Sign in to Mobile Device’,

Step2. In the next window select country from drop down menu and enter your mobile number. You don’t have to enter country code, just enter your mobile number without any country code.

Step3. You will receive verification SMS with a code like 4736. Enter that code in the next window and its all done. Now you can organize your mobile account(see below picture) by clicking the mobile icon in your messenger.

Step4: When you are going to logoff, you can see

Sign to 91xxxxxxxxxx(your mobile no.), and

Sign-out. From the two options

choose Sign to 91xxxxxxxxxx.

Now when you log out of your desktop Messenger, you will be automatically logged into your mobile device which you have set up. Any messages sent by your YAHOO friends will be forwarded to your mobile device and will be available in your phone’s SMS inbox. Reply to the SMS message, and your message will be sent back to your YAHOO friends.

This is very handy, till now not even single message was lost and SMS are delivered instantaneously. Again, there are NO charges to receive messages from friends. You will only incur charges if you reply to friend via receive message.

NOTE: If you want to change your mobile number at any time, You can edit your mobile settings on Yahoo messenger by clicking ‘Messenger’ -> ‘Preferences’ (or use Ctrl + Shift + P) Checkout settings at the bottom of the window.

How to Get Back Old Yahoo Mail Interface

Yahoo has completely rolled out its new interface for all users.The new yahoo mail has improved performance, improved search functionality and improved Facebook integration.It is designed for high resolution screens i.e.1024*600 or higher.If you open yahoo mail account in lower screen resolution then it generates an error message which gives the option for redirection to older version..If you want to permanently revert  to old interface then we can use it as a loophole.

How to Get Back Older Yahoo Mail Interface:

• Sign out from your yahoo mail account and close your browser window.
• Now lower your screen resolution to more than 1024*600

To make it happen Right click on your Desktop and select Screen Resolutionoption.

Now select any resolution lower than 1024*600 (like 800*600) and click on Apply button to save changes.

• Open your web browser and Login to your yahoo mail account.
• After login you will be greeted with the following error message “There is Screen Resolution Problem.”
• Now scroll down to the end of the page and you will see two options : Return to Previous version of Yahoo Mail only for this time and Return to Previous version.

• To permanently change the interface click on Return to Previous version.
• Now Minimize your browser and change your screen resolution to default.

How to Protect Yahoo Account from Hackers

2 Step verification or Second Sign-In verification is an addtional layer of security that protects your account even if your password gets hacked.This feature  is already available for facebook and Gmail accounts .Yahoo has also launched Second Sign-In verification for accounts of selected countries (U.S, Canadian, Indian, Philippines).It is expected to be rolled out for all users by March 2012.

If you enable Second Sign-in verification you have to enter a verification code (sent on your mobile) or Security answer after entering your password.This addtional step is required only if your login from a new computer or mobile.

• Login in to you :-LOGIN.YAHOO.COM
• Now open your Account Information.
• In the Sign-In and Security section look for the Second Sign-In Verification and click on it.

                      Check the box to turn on the Second Sign-In Verification feature

• Now a pop-up window will open, in this give your mobile number on which you want to receive verification codes and click on Receive SMS.

• You will receive Confirmation Code on your mobile, enter this code and click onVerify button.

After completion of verification process whenever you will login from a new computer ( like cybercafe) you will receive a confirmation code on your mobile and without it your account cannot be accessed.
