Search
giant Google will be going to release of its first tablet computer in
July 2012 ,report suggests over the weekend. Earlier sources claimed
that Google will release their first tablet in May 2012 in the price tag
of $249 but Google wants to tweak the tablet and lower its price from
the present $249.
Google
Chairman Eric Schmidt said the company plans to market “a tablet of the
highest quality,” perhaps in reference to the leading competitors
products, such as Apple’s iPad.
The
Google tablet to be made in partnership with Taiwan’s Asustek Computer
has a 7-inch screen, an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, and is
Wi-Fi-only.
The
Tablet runs on the latest Android version 4.0 that is Ice cream
Sandwich(ICS). It added the co-branding strategy in Android tablets
opens the door for a number of other companies to work with Google in
the future, including Samsung Electronics and Acer.
The
Google tablet directly targets the Amazon’s Kindle Fire market, another
7-inch tablet that retails for $199. Also reports cited that Google may
be trying to preempt Apple Inc.’s plan to build a smaller tablet with a
7.85-inch screen that may be called the iPad mini.
