How to earn full time income from Blogging

Earning full time income from blogging is a major concern for most bloggers. There are many ways in which you can make money from blogging. In spite of the difficulties and increasing competition, it is certainly possible to earn a full time income from blogging and writing on the web. Before we go any further I would like to remind readers that a majority of bloggers will not be successful in earning a full time income from blogging. On a positive side however, it is important to know that this is mainly due to lack of an effective monetising strategy and because many bloggers lack the patience required for succeeding. Any guides that tell you that you can make a full time living from blogging in 30 days is not providing you with correct information. Successful bloggers like Yaro starak or Darren Rowse from Pro Blogger, who have managed to earn in excess of 100K per year from blogging, will correctly advise that earning a full time living from blogging could take up to 2 years.
There are many online courses and eBooks that you can purchase that can help you with monetising techniques. Alternatively, you can learn the techniques yourself via free articles and posts such as this. In any case, there are no shortcuts to success. Following are some tips to help you become a full time blogger:

1) Choose your niche carefully.

Having a niche is important. Niche refers to the theme of your blog and the topics you will blog about. It is not feasible to make money and become a successful blogger without clearly identifying your niche. Although popularity and competition are important issues to consider when choosing your niche, it should ultimately be dictated by your internet. After all, it is not easy to write about a topic you have little or no interest in. At the same time if you choose a niche that that has low search volumes or a niche that is covered extensively by other blogs, it will be difficult to establish your authority.

2) Write, Write and write

Quality content is the basis of monetising your blog. In order to earn full time income from blogging, you will need to write quality articles in your niche frequently. Before you can even consider making money, you need to have an extensive collection of articles on your blog. Once you have built up a collection of unique articles, you then need to write new posts frequently. Successful bloggers often publish a few times a day. You can start with writing one article a day. With practice and experience you will find it easy to write multiple articles in a day. Before you can even consider making a full time living from blogging, you will probably need a 100 articles on your blog.

3) Set Goals

It helps to set out specific goals for your blog. It helps to set an amount you would like to generate from blogging. This could be the figure to achieve if you were to give up your current job and become a full time blogger. This will be the amount that will allow you to focus fully on your blog without having to look for income elsewhere. This will be different for different people. It is advisable to start with a lower figure that is more achievable and re-adjust your goals as you go along. Setting an un-realistic goal at the start should be avoided as far as possible. For me, this figure is approximately £30,000 per year. This is roughly the amount I could be earning working as a full-time project manager.

4) Break your goals down to monthly or weekly

Annual Goals can be difficult to plan and manage. Monitoring its progress can be equally challenging. Darren Rowse from Pro Blogger advises on the importance of breaking your goals to smaller more achievable ones. He adds that he found it much easier to meet a daily target of $88.19 than $30,000 a year. I find it easier to break my goals down to monthly or weekly figures instead. In either case, breaking your target income to smaller goals makes it seem more achievable and also makes it easier to monitor and plan for.

5) Use a combination of techniques to make money

As we have discussed above, there are a number of ways to earn money from blogging. One method on its own will not be sufficient for earning a full time income. Most professional bloggers who make a successful income from blogging do so by using a combination of methods. Following are some methods used by bloggers:
For a detailed overview of the methods, please read,  Make Money From Website – Top 10 Ways.
Google Adsense
Google Adsense continues to command one of the highest shares of revenue for most professional bloggers.
Amazon Associates Program
Amazon Associates Program is free to join and used widely by bloggers to earn commissions from sal of products from Amazon’s extensive collection. Pro-blogger made approximately $100,000 from Amazon Associates Program in the last year alone.
E-Books
E-Books are another effective way to make money from blogging. You can either create your own e-book or earn commission from the sale of existing e-books. You can join Clickbank, a popular affiliate network, to earn money from existing products.
Direct advertising
Direct banner advertising can complement other methods you use for earning income from blogging. This includes 125 x 125 banner ads. However you need to have a high readership before businesses will pay to advertise on your blog.
Other PPC Networks
Like Adsense there are many other CPC or CPM networks that allow you to earn money from your blog. Chitika is one example.
