Aside from Christmas trees and presents, another symbol of the
Yuletide spirit is the Christmas Wreath, which is an important display
piece in a home that celebrates the birth of the promised Savior, Jesus
Christ. Wreathes have been created to symbolize the advent of the Son of
God, originally having four candles representing the four weeks before
the birth. Green leaves signify the celebration of life, while the
circle embodies the endless love of God who sent his son into the world.
Now that you know the importance of this piece, it is fortunate to know
that you do not have to spend too much money in making a wreath of your
very own. Check on this list here and see what ideas you can come up
with, to have your home accentuated with the Christmas spirit.
10. Golden Christmas Wreath
When you get tired of seeing greens on your wreath, you can change
the mood by spraying the wreath with golden spray paint, and adding
glitters for extra shine. But in case you need to bring out more of the
golden touch, then adding shiny balls or a shimmering ribbon should do
the trick.
9. Fruit Selection Wreath
Since this is 100% fruit related, we would not be using pine leaves
for base. Instead, you can use the leaves included on purchase with
plastic fruits. You can choose about three to four, or even five fruits
to be added on your wreath. One suggestion would be a pairing of Apples,
cherries, green grapes, pears, and oranges.
8. Christmas Tree Wreath
Based on the name itself, you get to create a wreath that has the
same feeling of a Christmas tree. You can use some spare Christmas tree
leaves for the greens and have it glued on a circular base made of
cardboard. Add some garlands and have it stuck above the leaves, which
can be improved by having other pieces like teddy bears, small gift
boxes, and other items you have on your existing Christmas tree. To have
a spicier look, have the star placed on the middle!
7. Nativity Wreath
Before you get into doing this, make sure to have the complete cast
before making your wreath. You could print images and have it pasted on a
hard cardboard to make sure that the wreath won’t be too heavy once it
is done. With the Holy Family in the middle, you can also glue others
all around the item, after the greens have been placed in.
6. Christmas Balls Wreath
Are you planning to change your Christmas tree ornaments this year
because you have used your Christmas balls for as long as you can
remember? If you have a large number of ornamental balls that have great
mixes of color in about three shades or four, then having them glued
into a circle would create a wreath that has the balls. You can also
include interconnected pearls to add more effect to the display.
5. Gingerbread Man Wreath
Put in a different tone in your wreath this year by creating it out
of a sugary treat. You just need to collect a real gingerbread man in
stores, about 18-20 pieces, depending on the size you want. You may need
a base for support, but you can have the gingerbread man glued
together. Be sure to have it coated with some finish in order for
insects to not feast on your tasty display.
4. Popcorn Wreath
This is one rare treat that you can do for a very unique presentation of creativity!
3. Paper Wreath
Who says you can only create wreath out of older materials that are
closely related to the real thing? When you are quite resourceful with
paper, you can create wreath out of 100% paper. However, do not just
settle with the plainness of the material, you can hype things up by
using some spray paint or water color to set some tone on paper before
having it glued together.
2. Pinecone Wreath
What better way is there to create a personalized wreath than using
other materials that may seem not too important? In the case of making a
pinecone wreath, the creation would use about 90% pinecone where other
things may include contrasting colored leaves or a solid centerpiece
like a reindeer figurine, or Santa Clause. With the help of a glue gun
to stick things together, you can also use glitters and spray paint to
change the browns into a color or shade of your choice.
1. Wrapped Present Wreath
In making this particular wreath, you will not be needing a base nor
will you need greens to complete this. Although there are lesser
materials needed, you will need some tiny boxes and have it wrapped like
a real gift. You may have to create about 20 mini gifts of the same
color, or multi-tone, and have them glued together to serve both as a
base and a body of the wreath. A large bow can also be added on either
the middle top or lower section for extra cuteness.
