Popular for his acting, tom hanks has shown his talents in other
fields of cinematic industry as well. He is a producer, director,
writer, voice over artist and a speaker. His movies like ‘the green
mile,’ ‘saving private ryan,’ ‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘cast away,’ etc have
earned him a lot of respect and have portrayed him as a figure of
‘philosophical thought.’ Tom won the academy award for best actor,
consecutively, in the years 1993 and 1994 for the movies Philadelphia
and Forrest Gump respectively. In 2002, he was honored with AFI life
achievement award for his efforts in the film industry. i thought it

and HIV positive though. Once, he is handed over the most important case
by his firm but there is a controversy traveling against him. He feels
it is because they’ve found out about his HIV positive.

Plot: josh baskin, a 13 year old kid trying to
impress a girl at a carnival ride gets humiliated when he is told that

big man. To his surprise he becomes big the other morning he wakes up
and flees from his house. The story helps draw a line between being an
adult than being a child.

known as green mile. john Coffey comes in as an inmate being charged of
raping and killing two white girls. Ironically, Coffey is soft, kind and
has a bleeding heart and possess super natural powers as well. Paul
finds out about his powers when Paul is healed by him for his urine
infection.
5- Cast away:

Plot: chuck Noland (Tom Hanks), an executive for fed
ex, crash lands in the Pacific Ocean because of flying in a dreadful

locater that could have helped in locating his position. He floats all
night while being unconscious and is led to an island. The story depicts
his survival in the inhibited island and how he manages to go back to
the states.

The movie is inspired by a true novel “the terminal” which talks
about mehran karimi Nasser, an Iranian refugee who lived in the Charles
de Gaulle airport from 1988 till 2006. The movie is directed by Steven
Spielberg whose works include saving private Ryan and schindler’s list.
3- Road to perdition:

Plot: delineating the time line of the great

Sullivan’s younger son and his wife so as not to leave any witnesses of
their illegalities. Fortunately Sullivan’s elder son survives. Sullivan
has to take his revenge now. The story describes a strong father to son
relationship as well.
It is filmed mostly in Chicago. It was placed 2nd in box office in
its first week after men in black which was in its second week.

Plot: john miller (tom hanks) is a US army captain
and leads a team of 7 soldiers in the 1944 world war. The movie starts
at Omaha beach attack incident. The captain leads the 7 soldiers through
German defense. The movie interval occurs when the army general founds
out that 3 of 4 brothers of Ryan family have died recently in a military
action and their mother would receive notice of all three of them
together. Orders are received by the captain that the 4th brother be found and sent home due to sole survivor policy.
The director of this movie is Steven Spielberg, the producer of
schindler’s list. The movies grossed a worldwide total of 481.8 million
dollars and became the highest grossing movie of the year.
1- Forest Gump:

Plot: Movie starts by showing Gump sitting on a
public bench and telling his life story to strangers. He describes how
he showed Elvis Presley a dance move which Elvis later played on TV, how
he falls in love with a girl named jenny on the first day of school,
despite having a low IQ how he manages to attend university of Alabama
on football scholarship because he runs very fast(later becoming all
American and meets john f Kennedy) and why he opts for army after
graduation.
For the first ten weeks of its release, the movie held 1st place on box office. It is filmed mostly in Georgia and north and South Carolina.
