Get Windows 8 Consumer Preview Login Screen in Windows 7

How he can get back to Windows 7 from Windows 8.We thought to,share the tutorial on "how to get Back Windows 7 from Windows 8".Just follow the below steps and we will take your PC back to Windows 7.

So,here we start!

How to Uninstall Windows 8 and Get back old Windows 7

• Open your "My Computer"
• Now Open the "Windows Installation Drive ( In our caste it was Drive D:\\ ) which has Program files,Windows,Users etc.
• Check whether there is any "Windows.Old" folder or not.If there is the folder then you can go to next step.If there is no "Windows.Old" folder then you can't revert back to Windows 7 from Windows 8.
• Now Insert the "Windows 7 Installation DVD" or "Bootable Windows 7 USB" in to your computer.
• Restart your PC and start to boot your computer.
• Now wait for minute and let Windows to load files.
• Now a Dialog box of "Install Windows "  will open,asking for Language,time etc. Choose your desired option and click on "Next".
• Now in the next windows,click on "Repair your Computer" which is located at bottom-left corner of the Window.

• Now wait for a minute and let "Windows to search for Windows installations Drive"
• Remeber the "Drive letter" which is written in front of "Windows 8 Developer Preview" as we will need it in the ahead steps.

• Now under "System Recovery Options" click on the "Windows 8 Developer Preview" OS and after that click on "Next".
• Click on the "Command Prompt" which also known as "Cmd"
• Now Reed the below steps very carefully,then only do that.
• You need to write the Drive letter where Windows 8 has been installed,that we told you to remeber in the above step.My installation was on "D:" drive if your  also then type D: and press Enter after that type dir
• Now windows will load the drive folders,you will also see the "Windows.old" folder name.Now move on to next step.
• Now type the below commands and press the enter button.

ren Windows Windows.8

• Now type this and press "Enter"

ren "Program Files" "Program Files.8"

• Now type this and press "Enter"

ren "Users" "Users.8"

• Now type this and press "Enter"

move /y D:\windows.old\windows D:\

• Now type this and press "Enter"

move /y “D:\windows.old\program files” D:\

• Now type this and press "Enter"

move /y D:\windows.old\users D:\

• Please note that: C: is the name of the dive where your Windows 8 was installed.
• Now Go to the Windows 7 installation media by writing the Drive letter of the CD/DVD-ROM for example "E:" or something else.If you can't find then first of all type and drive letter then press "enter" button and then type dir and if you find files suc as boot.mgr,setup.exe etc,then move to next step and if you don't find then repeat the step with another Drive letter.
• Now to restore the old Windows 7 boot sector type below commands.

boot\bootsect /nt60 D:

• Please note: "D:" is the drive name in which you installed Windows 8 earlier.

Wait! Woooooo! you done great job.Just type exit and restart your PC and you will see your Windows 7 Back once again.
